Police are currently speaking to a man in relation to an assault in Mornington this morning. A 28-year-old Lyndhurst man presented himself to a police station this afternoon. Mornington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told two men were walking through a car park on Railway Grove, after leaving a near-by licensed premises, when they became involved in an altercation with a group of men about 3am. Both victims were punched and knocked to the ground, before by-standers intervened, causing the offenders to flee in an unknown vehicle.
