Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision that has claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Baxter this morning.
It is believed a 4WD and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Frankston-Flinders and Coolart roads about 5.45am.
The rider, a 67-year-old Tyabb man, sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the 4WD stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
