CAGE traps are being used to help eradicate feral cats on French Island.
The aim is to create a safe haven for hundreds of species of birds, marsupials and endangered native animals on the island which is said to be already fox-free.
Amanda Paul, communications coordinator of Westernport Catchment Management Authority, said soft-jawed leg traps and “curiosity” baits were not being used as previously stated in The News (“Closing in on island’s final 100 feral cats” 23/9/20).
