Three people are currently in custody after the discovery of Jade Goodwin’s body in a shallow grave in Tyabb on Sunday 22 October. The three are a 52-year-old man from Crib Point who was arrested this afternoon, a 34-year-old man from Crib Point, who was arrested yesterday, and a 36-year-old Hastings woman, who was arrested on Tuesday. The arrests follow the discovery of a body behind a building on the 11.7ha property on Dandenong-Hastings Road in Tyabb about 9pm on Sunday night. The body was buried in a shallow grave. Police have identified the victim whose body was located at a property in Tyabb as 39-year-old Jade Goodwin. Investigators believe that Jade was buried at the vacant rural property on Dandenong-Hastings road on Sunday 22 October. It is believed that he was last seen alive on 13 October. Investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw Jade between 13 October and 22 October or anything of interest at the property or around Dandenong-Hastings road. The body was located on a vacant rural property on Dandenong-Hastings Road just after 9pm. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an aggravated carjacking in Rye last week. Investigators have been told a man was walking back to his van which was parked on Ozone Street on Monday 9 October about 7.50pm. The 25-year-old was about to get into the vehicle when he was approached by a man who was armed with a knife. The offender then drove off in the victim’s white Toyota Hiace, registration ZAS213. A 51-year-old man has had his Ferrari impounded after he was allegedly caught travelling more than 50km/h over the speed limit in Mornington this afternoon. The red 1987 coupe was clocked at 132km/h in an 80km/h zone on Bentons Road just before 2.30pm. The vehicle was intercepted and it was established that it was unregistered. The Mornington man’s car was impounded immediately and he has a towing cost of $950. He is expected to be charged on summons with high range speeding and driving an unregistered vehicle.

MR R. Clark, engineer on one of the dredges at Naval Base, has the unique distinction of having experienced two motor cycle accidents on two successive days and not sustaining any serious injuries therefrom. On Saturday last, when travelling towards Frankston, at a fair pace, Mr Clark’s machine skidded and he was thrown heavily to the road injuring his left hand and head. A CASE of snakebite occurred at Frankston on Wednesday afternoon, the victim being a school boy named Alexander Nicholson. It appears that he, in company with other lads, was going through some scrub at the back of the school grounds when he felt what at first he thought was a thorn prick him on the knee. Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following a fatal shooting in Rosebud last weekend. The 30-year-old man was arrested at a house on Ocean Street, Rosebud on Tuesday 5 September. Detectives this evening charged him with one count of murder and three counts of conducting endangering life. The Rosebud man faced an out of sessions hearing this evening and was remanded to Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow. The charges follow the fatal shooting of a Mount Waverley man last Sunday 3 September. The 31-year-old was airlifted to hospital but died the following afternoon.

Detectives from Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man following an alleged robbery at Rosebud last week. It is alleged a 69-year-old man was walking his dog about 6.15am on 2 August when confronted by two offenders along the Rosebud foreshore who demanded his wallet. The offenders allegedly stole the man’s jacket, mobile phone watch, ring and scooter keys. This morning investigators executed two search warrants in Rosebud and arrested a 37-year-old Rosebud man. He is currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

SPEEDSTERS beware, members of Somerville Highway Patrol are out in force for Operation Hisser. Their focus is on the Mornington Peninsula’s rural roads with speed limits of 80kph or higher. They are aiming to ensure that drivers obeying road rules. In the first week of the operation police detected 120 speeding offences, two drug drivers, four unlicensed drivers, one suspended driver and seven unregistered vehicles. Sergeant Peter Martin said Operation Hisser would continue over the next few months. “Drivers need to be aware of the speed zone that they are driving in and always drive to the conditions,” he said.…

Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a robbery involving two men who targeted an elderly man in a mobility scooter this morning. Investigators have been told that a 69-year-old man was walking his dog at 6.15am when confronted by the two offenders along the Rosebud foreshore near the rear of the local bowling club and demanded his wallet. AFL South East has continued to flex its muscle, informing clubs through the week that an integrity officer is about to be appointed and sent in to clubs to begin salary cap investigations. As part of the implementation and enforcement of the Player Payment Rules, AFL South East will conduct several club reviews during the remainder of this season. Somerville Highway Patrol had their hands full over the weekend with three separate incidents occurring. The first incident occurred just after 10.20pm on Saturday 22 July on Bungower Road, Moorooduc. Police intercepted a Ford ute travelling at 130km/h in the 80km/h zone. The driver, a 20-year-old Mornington man, had his vehicle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $950. Police are investigating a series of thefts from a liquor store in Mornington. Investigators have been told three unknown offenders entered the store on three occasions on 29 April, 20 May and 1 July. On each occasion, the offenders have stolen scotch whiskey and champagne. Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing woman Tina Rayworth. It’s believed the 56-year-old was last seen in Frankston and Mornington some time in May. Tina suffers from a number of medical conditions and police have concerns for her welfare. She is described as being 160cm tall with a medium build and light brown/grey shoulder length hair.
