THE Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has investigated discoloured water emanating from a drain in Mt Martha, which is believed to be linked to terracotta roof tiles being washed down at a nearby property.EPA southern metropolitan regional manager Viranga Abeywickrema confirmed officers had investigated the murky orange discolouration in Balcombe Creek at the Harrap Road crossing. Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man and two boys after an extended follow in two allegedly stolen vehicles yesterday afternoon. Police were called to reports of a suspicious loiter at a carpark on Katandra Road in Ormond about 2.45pm. Three people in a Ford Mondeo, which was allegedly stolen from Wheelers Hill, fled the scene. Officers followed the vehicle through Glen Huntly and Caulfield to Keys Road in Moorabbin, where the trio dumped the Ford. Watson is a senior midwife in Mount Eliza, as well as being a staff member at the maternity unit of non-profit The Bays Hospital, Mornington. Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have released images of two men and a vehicle wanted in relation to a fatal hit-run collision that occurred in Carrum Downs this morning. The driver of a red Holden crashed into a number of road workers on Hall Road near the intersection of Lats Avenue about 7.15am. The man fled on foot and got into a black Hyundai SUV on Rowellyn Avenue a short time after the collision. Sadly a 44-year-old Bayswater man died at the scene. NASA scientist Dr Darlene Lim drew a packed house at the Science in the Park event at Coolart Wetlands and Homestead, Somers on Sunday 11 August. Described as a “rock star in the science world” Dr Lim spoke to a packed audience about her adventures to extreme Earth habitats and her role in Mars exploration. PENINSULA Link freeway has been open for seven months but the authorities are still discussing the location and types of locality and tourism signs. The freeway opened on 17 January but there were no signs on the four-lane road showing traffic where to exit to reach Baxter, Hastings and the Western Port side of the peninsula.
