CONCERNS have been raised over a planned reduction in car parking spaces on the Blairgowrie foreshore. Plans on the Whitecliffs to Camerons Bight Foreshore Reserve management committee website show the revamped car park will have 44 parking spaces, 13 less than at present. An aerial photograph of the car park in summer shows 60 cars parked there with one unoccupied disabled space. POLICE divers conducted a final search last week for the body of a New Zealand student who disappeared in rough surf off rocks near Blairgowrie after he had jumped in to rescue a friend a week earlier. Divers conducted an extensive search of the rocky coastline at Pearses Beach last Wednesday but were unable to find the 20-year-old man’s body. THE Mornington Park precinct was marred by rubbish after the hot weekend and looked like a Third World country, says resident Paul Smith. Mr Smith and former chamber of commerce president Scott Crowe are “citizen cleaners” who pick up rubbish in the precinct during regular morning and evening walks. The pair has been calling for improved rubbish collection for several years. “At 8pm on Sunday I visited the precinct while walking my dog.
