Firefighters contained a scrub fire that spread over two hectares in Cape Schanck, with a water-bombing helicopter called in to tackle the blaze on 6 February. The fire broke out near Long Point Rd about 5.50pm which saw 15 fire vehicles respond including units from Boneo, Rosebud, Main Ridge, Rye, Dromana, Moorooduc fire brigades and Fire Rescue Victoria pumper 95.
