Detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed during New Years Eve celebrations in Sorrento. It is understood an altercation occurred between a group of males on Point Nepean Road, near Collins Parade and Calcutta Street on 1 January about 2am. The victim, an 18-year-old man from Melbourne, was stabbed five times during the altercation before he was able to escape and run to the aid of his friends.
